Bankvaults

A heavy and hollow deep water right hander with two distinct sections, one closer to the channel that provides good heavy barrels and another section deeper which also provides very good waves under ideal conditions and can connect all the way to the channel on epic days. Watch out for bigger sets that come out of nowhere.

Recommended board: Boards for thick, heavy and hollow waves according to the swell size.
Our advice: Bankvaults is an oceanic wave very shifty and tricky. Keep an eye on surprising sets specially on the end section close to the channel. With the outgoing lower tide the rip becomes very strong and the reef on the inside start to become more dangerous.

Hideaways

Hideaways is a heavy and hollow left that breaks over a very shallow irregular reef of colorful corals. The wave has a late drop ‘ledge’ style and deep barrels on the deeper section close to the main peak and an easier take off with a section good for turns breaking wider.

Recommended board: Fast board with good paddle speed designed for barrels!
Our advice: Hideaways is a heavy wave, be ready for late take offs and heavy barrels…with the outgoing tide the rip turns into a flowing river, paddle hard to keep position and watch out for the coral heads popping up on the inside as the tide drops.

No Kandui

No Kandui or simply Kandui is a super fast super hollow left trowing deep heavy barrels on every section. When the factors are aligned and the size and direction of the swell combine with the right, the wave turns into a tubular high-speed express that runs for hundreds of yards providing many deep tubes behind the peak from one section to another; It’s no wonder that Kandui is considered one of the best waves in the world! It needs a southwest swell and southeast winds to be perfect.

Recommended board: Fast board with good paddle speed designed for barrels!
Our advice: Here the bigger the better! With smaller swell the wave breaks closer to the reef. Don’t give up coming out of real deep barrels, put your foot on the gas and aim for the exit! On the outgoing tide the wave gets full of ripples.

Zone: Playgrounds
Distance from resort: 15min on our boats
Wave type: Left hollow, fast, heavy barrels.
Rate: 9/10
Length: 50-500mtrs
Board: Fast barrels board
Consistency: 5/10
Ideal size: 5-10 feet
Difficulty: 9/10
Bottom: Coral Reef
Reef factor: 8/10
Ability Level: Experienced/Advanced
Danger: 7/10
Swell Direction: Southwest-West
Best wind: East-Southeast
Best Tide: Medium/High
Note: On lower tides the reef on the inside comes out of the water and its best to choose the best waves very carefully. Outgoing tides make ripples on the waves. Not very consistent, needs a good west swell, the bigger the better. Very difficult wave, experts only!! Very dangerous at lower tides, watch out for the reef on the inside at all tides.

A frames

As the name suggests, it’s a peak that opens both left and right forming and “A’ frame, it’s a fat wave good for turns that ends in the channel, the left is better, hollower and can trow some good barrels on the inside at lower tides ending in the channel.

Recommended board: Shortboard or Fishboard good for turns.
Our advice: With the outgoing tide its easy to loose position, keep paddling to be on the right place. Surprise sets come out of nowhere and provide good barrels on the inside!

Distance from resort: 10 min. on our boats
Wave type: Left and rights mushy…occasional barrel on the lefts.
Rate: 6/10
Length: 40-100mtrs

Very consistent, shifty peaks with two main sections, one mushier on the outside that goes left and right good for turns and one left on the inside that trows some barrels on the lower tides. Very easy wave but the peaks are very shifty.
