Government tax: all room rates, the Surf Pack, drinks and extras (board rental, video package, massage, yoga) are subject to a 10% government tax (PBJT), added separately and shown on your invoice. Transfers and the Mentawai Surf Tax carry no added tax.

Sharing rates apply to guests travelling together in the same room. Solo travellers always get a private room, never shared with strangers. Children 0–5 stay free; children 6–13 get 50% off. See the rooms.

Surf Pack

Per surfer, charged for every night of your stay.
Example: 10 nights = US$ 900 + 10% government tax.

The nightly price is the same. Featured Trips add the transfer and the surf video, and from January 2027 skip the night in Padang.

Example: a surfer sharing an Ocean Suite on a 10-night Featured Trip pays US$ 2,700 (US$ 180 + US$ 90 per night) + 10% government tax (US$ 270), transfer and video included. Already in the Mentawais or leaving on your own? On your own dates, you only pay the transfer leg you use. How to get here.
Transfers on Featured Trips: the speedboat transfer is part of the trip and runs on the trip dates. Extending your stay or leaving early? The leg you travel outside the trip dates is charged at US$ 175 per person. If you choose to travel on elsewhere in the Mentawais, the included transfer is not refunded.

Booking & Payment
All prices are in US dollars and exclude the 10% government tax, which is shown separately on your invoice. A 30% deposit confirms your booking. The balance is due 30 days before check-in. Full details in our Terms & Conditions.

What is included in the nightly rate?
Your room and all meals by our chef (breakfast with any 2 items from the breakfast menu, plus lunch and dinner), free Starlink Wi-Fi across the resort, and the gym with sessions with our physical trainer. Surfers add the Surf Pack. Rates are subject to a 10% government tax, added separately and shown on your invoice.
What is the Surf Pack and do I need it?
The Surf Pack (US$90 per night, plus 10% government tax) covers the daily boat surf sessions with our local guides. It is required for everyone who surfs; non-surfers do not pay it. Surfers also pay the Mentawai Surf Tax, which is added automatically with the Surf Pack.
When is the best time to surf the Mentawais?
April to September is the high season, with more consistent and bigger swells. October to March is the low season: fun, smaller waves with far fewer people around.
What surf level do I need?
Hidden Bay welcomes surfers of all levels who can already surf on their own. Our guides follow the forecast and choose the right wave for each group, with breaks for every level around the bay.
How do I get to Hidden Bay?
Fly into Padang (West Sumatra) and we organise the boat transfer to the resort. Featured Trips include the return transfer from Padang. From January 2027 it is a direct speedboat with no overnight in Padang; until 19 December 2026 the transfer may be by public fast boat, with a night in Padang before and after your stay (hotel paid by the guest).
Can non-surfers, couples and families stay?
Yes. Our rooms suit every setup, from solo travellers to families. Children aged 0 to 5 stay free and children aged 6 to 13 pay 50%. Non-surfers can enjoy snorkelling, stand-up paddleboarding, the jacuzzi, the gym, the game room and island trips.
How do payment and cancellation work?
A 30% deposit confirms your booking and the balance is due 30 days before check-in. Card payments carry a 3.5% fee. If you cancel, the deposit is not refunded; once fully paid, your payment can be moved to a future date.
Is there Wi-Fi at the resort?
Yes. Starlink Wi-Fi is free across the whole resort, in the restaurant and in every room.
