Getting to Hidden Bay
Easier Than You Think
Fly into Padang (PDG) on the west coast of Sumatra, usually via Jakarta or Kuala Lumpur. From there, we take care of the rest.

No overnight in Padang (from January 2027). Transfer included.
Arrival day: land in Padang in the morning. Our chartered speedboat leaves around midday, and you’ll be at Hidden Bay by late afternoon.
Departure day: we leave the resort early and reach Padang before noon, in time for afternoon flights.
The crossing takes about 3.5 to 4 hours on the open ocean.
Book your flights: arrive in Padang by late morning, and depart after 2pm.
Trips until 19 December 2026: the transfer is still included, but it may run on the public fast boat (see “Your own dates” below), so plan a night in Padang before and after your trip (hotel paid by the guest). The direct speedboat with no overnight runs from January 2027.

Connecting flights: from January 2027 you’ll be back in Padang before noon, so same-day connections through Jakarta or Kuala Lumpur are usually possible. Just leave a comfortable buffer.

Your Journey, Step by Step
The day before arrival: fly into Padang and spend the night in the city.
Arrival day: around 6am, our representative picks you up at your hotel or at the airport. The public fast boat leaves Padang at 7am for Siberut Island, and from there our private speedboat brings you to the resort in about 1 hour 20 minutes.
Departure day: we take you back to Siberut for the public boat, arriving in Padang around 6pm. Plan another night in Padang and fly out the next day.
Transfer: USD 350 per person, round trip. Not included in the stay. Hotel nights in Padang are not included. The surf video package can be added separately.

Already in the Mentawais?
Coming from Tuapejat or another resort in the region? No transfer package needed. We’ll arrange a pickup from your location, with a fee depending on where you are. Message us on WhatsApp for a quote.
Weather, sea and travel conditions
All transfers are operated by trusted third-party partners. The crossing to the Mentawais is an open-ocean journey, and weather, sea conditions or government decisions can cause delays, schedule changes or the need for alternative transport. Hidden Bay Resort is not liable for delays, missed connections or any costs resulting from these circumstances. If they happen, we’ll do everything we can to get you to the resort, or back to Padang, as quickly as possible, and keep you informed every step of the way.
